THE ABILITY TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD REMOTELY AT HUC-JIR
Using the Microsoft “forgot password” does not work. It is a cloud service that does not talk to our servers. But do not despair, we have been working on a service that will allow you to reset your password that does talk to all our services.
This will take about 5-15 minutes to setup. You will have to change your password as the final step.
Step 1: The system must know who you are.
The sooner you do this the better. Waiting till your password expires and then going through the process will not work. You can only claim your account once. One will get an error if you try to reclaim. Please email techsupport@huc.edu if you get an error at this stage.
Click on this link in order to establish your identity (claim your identity.)

Step 2: Select Type – Default. The other choice is for alumni only

Step 3: Enter your Name and Claim Code –
IT dept. will provide you with your personal claim code – 6 numbers
Email techsupport@huc.edu to request one with your HUC email

Step 4: Add an alternate email contact address (How we contact you to reset the password) and
an SMS enabled Phone number so that they can text you a code.
A code is sent to this recovery email address – It can take up to 15 minutes to get this code.

Step 6: Change Your more than 14 character Password using CAPITAL and lower case Letters, 2 or more numbers, and a special character. One can use spaces but do not include your name, phone numbers, street addresses or repeat a password. Choose a pass phrase or something that a robot could not guess reading your social medias.

This final step forces you to change your password. You can then log into https://portal.huc.edu
Now that you have claimed your identity, you can now reset your password whenever you wish.

HOW TO RESET YOUR PASSWORD ONCE YOUR IDENTITY HAS BEEN CLAIMED.
To Manage your Password, Login and manage your account using this link
Login to https://portal.huc.edu Click on the MY PASSWORDS

After completing the final step, you can log into https://portal.huc.edu to test your login.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD OR USERNAME
This only works if you have claimed your account.
You need to enter your name and work location.
Email techsupport@huc.edu if you think your work location is not correct.
Password Reset: https://portal.huc.edu/kiosk/password/forgot
You will then text a temporary code to reset your password.

If you have forgotten your user ID it is the part before @huc.edu in your email.

One will need to enter your first and last name along with work location.


This only works if you have setup a recovery email when you claimed your account.
